Co Curricular Activities
Art transcends languages. They cut across racial, cultural, social, educational
and economic barriers and enhance cultural appreciation and awareness.
Art Education not only nurtures the innate artistic talent in a child but also aids
in the development of self-esteem, self-discipline, cooperation and self-motivation.
Music
Music speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and heals the heart. Besides
the multi-linguistic patriotic singing in the morning assembly, students from classes
I to XII receive formal training in classical and western music accompanied by various
musical instruments. Students conduct and actively participate in various musical
programmes.
Dance
The students are trained in various rhythmic foot patterns and different body postures
and movements of dance. Various mythological themes are taken up and performed by
these students in the school assembly, special festival celebrations and competitions.
Drawing, Painting & Craft
Nurturing an aesthetic sensibility is essential for the holistic development of
children. Students are taught sketching, drawing, colouring, embossing, tie and
dye, flower making, paper craft and painting on different mediums such as glass
and pots. Their creative spontaneity and critical awareness are enhanced when allowed
to experiment with different methods and media. The many prizes won at the state
and national level stand testimony to the artistic talents of our children.
